This is the cheapest Samsung monitor that still has something beyond bare minimum specs — it refreshes 100 times per second instead of the standard 60, which means games and scrolling feel noticeably smoother. Not esports-tier smooth, but enough that you'll notice the difference if you're coming from an old office monitor.
The screen is 24 inches at regular HD resolution, so it's not super sharp but perfectly fine for everyday use. VA panel means darker scenes look properly dark instead of washed out, which helps with movies and moody games. The picture isn't color-perfect if you edit photos, but it looks natural enough for normal use.
The old VGA port (D-Sub) tells you this is budget territory — most newer computers don't even have that anymore, so you'll probably use HDMI. There's only one HDMI port, which is tight if you want to plug in a console and a PC at the same time.
