This is Samsung's take on a TV-monitor hybrid. It runs apps like Netflix and YouTube on its own, no laptop or desktop needed, which is handy if you want something for the bedroom or a dorm room where you'll watch more than you'll work. The remote and interface feel like a TV, because that's basically what Samsung borrowed here.
At 32 inches with 4K resolution, the picture is sharp and roomy enough for split-screen multitasking when you do plug a computer in. The VA panel gives decent contrast — blacks look dark, not the washed-out gray cheaper screens show. Motion refreshes at 60Hz, so this isn't built for gaming, but it's fine for casual stuff and watching shows.
The HDR label means it can accept an HDR signal, but the screen isn't bright enough to make those highlights really pop. Treat it as a regular display that happens to play Netflix without your laptop.
